Gratitude Progress Planning

Gratitude, Progress and Planning for the Year Ahead

November 2025

As autumn setles over our beautiful community, I find myself reflecting on the many things we have to be grateful for—our stunning natural surroundings, our dedicated neighbors, and the shared commitment that makes Kala Point condos more than just a place to live. It’s a place to belong.

This season has brought both change and momentum. Roofing work has started on Building #50, taking an essential step in our long-term maintenance plan. This project, along with others, is crucial to preserving the integrity and value of our homes, and I thank everyone for their patience and support as we progress.

Looking ahead, our Annual Budget Meeting on November 29 offers an important opportunity for owners to participate in discussions on financial planning that will affect our community's future. This year’s budget includes necessary dues increases to cover roofing, painting, and other infrastructure needs. Your voice matters, and your involvement helps ensure our decisions reflect the priorities of the entire community.

I want to take a moment to recognize the spirit of teamwork that keeps us united. Whether it’s neighbors helping with our roofing project (thank you, Robert & Jane!), another lending a hand (thank you, Vicki!), or owners participating in meetings to stay informed—these actions strengthen our bonds and foster a true sense of community.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I appreciate your ongoing involvement and support. Together, we are shaping KPCA into a community that reflects the best of the Pacific Northwest— thoughtful, welcoming, and resilient.

New Year Filled With Care

A New Year Filled With Care, Connection, and Community

January 2026

As we welcome the new year, we sincerely thank you for your trust, engagement, guidance, and feedback that shape our community. Serving on your Board of Directors is a privilege, and we approach this work with care and dedication.

Our community is more than just buildings. It’s a unique place shaped by our care, stewardship, and shared effort. This year, we continue to focus on maintaining what we have, planning wisely for the future, and making thoughtful improvements that enhance both our homes' value and our daily comfort.

As we begin this year’s work, we reaffirm our commitment to clear communication and careful decision-making. Many upcoming projects are long-term investments in our community's health and stability, and we will continue updating everyone as they progress. Our goal is to ensure every owner feels included and knows that their opinions are valued.

Your involvement—whether by attending meetings, listening and asking questions, or simply staying informed—is essential to our success. Recently, an owner shared that although she doesn’t attend meetings, she “reads every email, every newsletter, every communication we send.”

Hearing that was inspiring—it reminded us that engagement varies for everyone. What matters is that each of us stays informed and connected in a way that works for us, so we can keep moving forward together. Here’s to a great 2026!

Welcoming the Light

Welcoming the Light, Strengthening Our Community

March 2026

As the days get a little longer and the first signs of spring emerge, March brings a hopeful feeling of progress. Winter’s grip is almost gone, and we’re entering a season of renewal — both in our environment and in how we support our community. There’s something about this time of year that invites us to look up, take stock, and appreciate the small but meaningful shifts happening around us: brighter mornings, neighbors out walking again, and the first green shoots pushing through the soil.

This natural transition mirrors the work happening within KPCA. Even in the quieter winter months, our community has been steadily preparing for the seasons ahead — maintaining our buildings, planning for upcoming projects, and strengthening the systems that keep everything running smoothly. March gives us a chance to acknowledge that effort and to look forward with a sense of shared purpose.

Our maintenance and landscaping partners are moving into spring-readiness mode, and you may notice a few early tasks underway across our community. Over the next several weeks, crews will complete seasonal pruning and cleanup and check irrigation lines to ensure everything is functioning well before the wetter months taper off. These routine steps help us stay ahead of seasonal wear, protect our buildings and grounds, and keep KPCA looking its best as we head into brighter days. Thank you to Jamey and his crew for their steady, thoughtful work as we transition into spring.

This month, we want to share some updates, highlight ongoing stewardship efforts, and start a new tradition of honoring the leaders who helped shape KPCA. It’s a moment to recognize where we’ve been, where we’re headed, and how each of us contributes to the health and harmony of our community.

New Year Filled With Care

Strength in the Work behind the Scenes

April 2026

April brings a quiet momentum to our condominium community. Even when the weather surprises us — as it did in mid-March with a brief snowfall — our community begins to settle into its early-season rhythm. This is the time of year when our plans start to take shape, and the groundwork laid over the winter begins to show its value.

Much of what keeps our condo community running smoothly happens long before anyone sees the results. Our maintenance team has spent the past few months on the less visible but essential work that safeguards our buildings and infrastructure. Jamey’s landscaping crew has been preparing our property for the upcoming season by clearing winter debris and laying the groundwork for healthier growth. Meanwhile, our Board continues its steady, thoughtful efforts — reviewing projects, coordinating details, and focusing on the Association’s long-term needs.

Over the winter months, Vice President Linda Therou has been our reliable “boots on the ground,” serving as the on-site contact for our landscaping crew and inspecting our property alongside multiple contractors. Her time and attention have been crucial to obtaining bids, assessing materials, and ensuring we work with quality professionals who use high-end products. If you see Linda around the neighborhood, please be sure to give her a hearty thanks!
